#CheerForGood #CheerForPlay

Verulamium at Play have been chosen to be Starbucks UK St Albans charity during their #CheerForGood campaign this Christmas, in partnership with neighbourly, the  social platform that connects local projects with people and organisations who want to help.

Starbucks have already pledged £500 to our cause to create a new play area in Verulamium Park, and we have the opportunity to raise £2000 during the annual social media competition to make lots of noise, over the run up to Christmas!

We’re asking our community to:

  • Retweet us and Tweet on our behalf using the hashtags #CheerForGood  and #CheerForPlay
  • Share our neighbourly page across Twitter and Facebook
  • Follow us on neighbourly
  • Engage with our neighbourly  page – lots of comments on our updates please!

We’ve also set up a JustGiving campaign to complement the social media campaign. We’re looking for small donations, hoping that these will eventually match Starbuck’s £500 donation by Christmas.

Thank you!

Over £1000 raised at Verulamium Late

We had a wonderful time at the museum on Thursday evening, raising funds for the playarea. Superb venue, food, music, raffle and quiz in great company. And over £1000 raised!

Many thanks to our sponsors groupH and Raydens, the museum staff for all their help, Christo Tofalli and his wonderful team from Ye Olde Fighting Cocks for gorgeous food and running the bar, Ember Designs for our brochures, and local composer Andrew James Johnson, showcasing his Album Launch – ‘Winter’s Heart’

Thanks also to those donating raffle prizes, they were very much appreciated; Pines and NeedlesLaurence Allen Professional GolfWillows Activity FarmCharliesSta and Ayletts.

Finally thanks to all the lovely folks who came along in support. We hope you had as much fun as we did.

Vote for Play!

Please spare two minutes to vote for us to be St Albans Half Marathon Chosen Charity 2018.

Being the Chosen Charity will help us reach our fundraising finish line all the sooner.

The Chosen Charity benefits greatly from publicity of the event and receives £££s through fundraising. Last year’s charity, Rennie Grove, made over £24,000 from the event in 2017.

It would be a fantastic opportunity to work with St Albans Half Marathon, especially because of our shared values; promoting health and fitness for families in the great outdoors, community engagement, attracting residents and visitors to our beautiful park, and of course having fun raising funds!

Please vote and help us spread the word by sharing on social media platforms and by email.

Fabulous vibe at the Rose and Crown FUNdraiser Evening

What a fabulous vibe there was at the newly refurbished Rose and Crown on September 21st.

A glass of something chilled, catching up with friends, and listening to wonderful live music from acoustic duo Supermoon. Verulamium at Play’s chilled fundraiser evening was enjoyed by all and we raised £££s for the new playarea!

Thanks to all who came and supported us, we truly appreciate it.

Calling all fairy godmothers and godfathers!

On Saturday July 15th at 2pm we’ll be gathering at the play area to fill the sky with bubbles and wish for a new playground in Verulamium Park.

There’ll be family-friendly activities at The Inn on the Park cafe from 12.30pm and Wish Upon a Party’s very own fairy godmother will be leading the proceedings.

Verulamium at Play is a community-led registered charity in St Albans, UK. We are raising money to replace the existing, outdated play area in Verulamium Park. Our vision is to build a modern, inclusive, stimulating play area that encourages outdoor, adventurous and imaginative play for all.

Please support us with a donation, however large or small.
